Ingredients
- 500 g Ground turkey
- 100 g Feta cheese, crumbled
- ½ medium Red onion, minced
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Fresh dill
- 1 tbsp Fresh mint
- 1 tsp Dried oregano
- ¼ cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 whole Egg
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Black pepper
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 200 g Greek yogurt
- ½ medium Cucumber, grated
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 4 whole Burger buns
- 2 medium Tomato slices
- 4 leaves Lettuce leaves
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground turkey, crumbled feta cheese, minced red onion, garlic, fresh dill, mint, oregano, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the mixture.
- Divide the turkey mixture into 4 equal portions and form into burger patties about 3/4 inch thick.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the burger patties for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C).
- While burgers cook, prepare tzatziki sauce by combining Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, minced garlic, dill, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well and refrigerate until serving.
- Toast the burger buns lightly if desired.
- Assemble burgers by spreading tzatziki sauce on the bottom bun, then adding lettuce, a burger patty, tomato slice, and top bun.
- Serve immediately with extra tzatziki sauce on the side.
